Bulldogs Make It Seven Straight, Dominate Sleepy Hollow 71–47

The Yonkers Bulldogs came into Wednesday night riding a six-game winning streak — and they made sure that momentum didn’t slow down anytime soon. In front of an energized crowd, Yonkers delivered a statement performance, rolling past Sleepy Hollow with an emphatic 71–47 victory to extend their streak to seven straight wins.

This one meant a little extra for the Bulldogs. The last time these two teams met back in December 2023, it was Sleepy Hollow who walked away with a 45–34 win. On Wednesday, Yonkers flipped the script in convincing fashion, controlling the game from start to finish and leaving no doubt about who was in charge.

Leading the charge was a dominant senior duo that set the tone on both ends of the floor. Shael Lopez was everywhere, pouring in 18 points while adding four steals, consistently disrupting the Horsemen’s offense and turning defense into fast-break opportunities. Right alongside him was Justin Rosado, who continued his hot streak with 16 points and a team-high five steals. The performance marked Rosado’s fourth consecutive game scoring at least 16 points, a testament to his consistency and leadership as the season heats up.

Yonkers also got a major boost in the paint from Logan Runge, who delivered a strong double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. His presence on the boards helped the Bulldogs control the tempo and limit second-chance opportunities for Sleepy Hollow, further widening the gap as the game went on.

By the second half, Yonkers had fully taken control, stretching the lead with crisp ball movement, aggressive defense, and relentless energy. The Bulldogs’ depth and chemistry were on full display, as contributions came from up and down the roster to seal the convincing win.

It was a clean sweep for Yonkers on the night, as the JV Bulldogs also came up big with a hard-fought 40–37 victory over Sleepy Hollow. The close win showcased the grit and composure of the younger Bulldogs, who executed down the stretch to secure the program-wide success.

With the victory, Yonkers improves to an impressive 11–5 on the season, continuing their surge at the perfect time. Sleepy Hollow, meanwhile, drops to 5–5 as they look to regroup moving forward.

The Bulldogs’ next matchup against The Leffell School has been postponed, with no makeup date announced yet. Sleepy Hollow will look to bounce back when they return home to face Children’s Village on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

For now, the message is clear: the Bulldogs are rolling — and they’re not done yet. 🐾🔥
