The Evolution of the Nissan Z Continues
Since its debut in 1969, the Nissan Z has been a symbol of affordable performance and classic sports car design. More than 50 years later, the Z has reached its seventh generation—and for 2027, it’s getting some exciting upgrades.
One of the biggest changes is the redesigned front end, which now uses a two-piece aerodynamic setup. Powering the 2027 Nissan Z is a retuned 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 420 horsepower in Nismo trim. For the first time ever, drivers can pair this high-performance setup with a manual transmission. This new version is called the Nismo MT, giving driving enthusiasts more control and a more engaging experience behind the wheel.
The Z also receives performance upgrades where it counts. New brakes inspired by the Nissan GT-R improve stopping power, while updated monotube shock absorbers help deliver a smoother and more comfortable ride for both the driver and passengers.
The 2027 Nissan Z is set to launch in Japan this summer, with a U.S. release expected later this year. With its mix of history, innovation, and performance, the Nissan Z continues to prove why it remains one of the most iconic sports cars on the road.
