HONORING DR. KING’S LEGACY THROUGH CREATIVE EXPRESSION
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 19, 2025
Students across Yonkers are encouraged to submit original poems thatreflect Dr. King’s enduring themes: justice, courage, and unity.
Submission Guidelines:
- Open to youth in grades 6-12 who reside or attend school in Yonkers.
- Individual submissions only (no group entries)
- Must reflect themes justice, courage and unity inspired by Dr .King’s legacy
- Deadline for submissions: Friday, December 19, 2025

Selected works will be featured during the live showcase on Thursday, January 8, 2026, where youth will present their poetry and engage in meaningful face-to-face dialogue with community guests.
